Loreal, Bodyshop, Biotherm: What they have in common?

Garnier,Loreal Paris,Maybelline,Lancome, Biotherm, Ralph Lauren, Diesel, Rekken,Giorgo Armani, Shu Uemura, Vichy, Skinceuticals, Body Shop... What do they have in common?

Bingo! cosmetic companies! ...and best of all.. they are related.. They all belong to this French conglomerate called "LOREAL". Have a look if you are interested..

The last I counted Loreal have 29 Brands under their belt, making them one of the biggest cosmetic company in the world!! Who else could be bigger?

P & G from USA, according to some reports.
Brands from P & G includes: SK-II, Secret,Max factor,Olay,Hugo Boss and many more...

However, it is pretty debatable who is "BIGGER" . Why?
First, is there a difference between skincare, personal care & cosmetics? Do you consider hair care & perfumes as separate entity or lump it under cosmetics?

P & G is a much bigger company as its business is very well diversified. Gillete, Pantene, Pringles, Pampers and PriLosec are from P & G, just to name a few.

Who are the other Giants? In no particular order

Unilever (Dove, Rexona, Lux, Pond's, Vaseline, Sunsilk & etc)
Estee Lauder (Estée Lauder, Aramis, Clinique, Prescriptive, Origins and etc)
Biersdorf ( Nivea, Eucerin, La Praire and etc)
Johnson & Johnson (Johnson's, Clean & Clear, Nutrogena,RoC and etc)

It does not really matter who is the biggest. But.. aren't you astounded that we maybe having at least 1-2 products from Loreal or P & G without realizing it? I have at least 3 Loreal's products =Gillete, Biotherm, Body Shop.... What about you??

The beginning...

aging is inevitable... harsh but true.... the days when I thought I could get away without putting on anything to makes me look and feel good is GONE!

NOW...in my 30's.... it comes pretty natural that I should learn to take good care of myself. At least, in my line of work, I need to look presentable and decent enough to my customers. Very often, my advice is solicited about supplements and cosmetics and what they can do to your body.

Believe me... there are more man & woman who trust the instinct of the pharmacist more so than any beautiful Loreal Girls ...We deal with more than just drugs and medicines...

The few months earlier has been interesting as I had opened up my eyes in learning what is it behind a product, NOT THE BRAND! Is the product safe? Is it overhyped?

Are those "75% percentages of "wrinkle reduction" .... "30% smoother skin" for real? I mean... sorry....it just seemed to be good to be true. And yes, what is the difference between a Biotherm and a Tesco facial wash...? Do they have the same ingredients inside? Back in the uni days,we were told to be careful with the side effects, pharmacological actions, potential drug interactions for medicine. How about cosmetics or "cosmecueticals"...? Do we know anything about them before you slap on an ounce of cream to your face??

So, today , I am going to put down my thoughts down.. what I have read about and share with who ever that visited my humble blog...
